On Saturday, May 14th, 15 sisters of Sigma Theta Chi graduated from Grove City College in the college’s 2nd biggest graduating class to date. Both Wannida Leutbounshou and Haley Nerlich graduated at the end of the past fall semester, but returned to walk.
Former Presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson was the commencement speaker, and encouraged the graduates to put their degrees to good use, saying that “Success is taking our God-given talent and using it to elevate our fellow man.”
We are so proud of our sisters and cannot wait to see all the amazing things they will do in the future!
Last week, the sisters of Sigma Theta Chi gathered at a local park for end of the year Will Downs. After Will Downs were given and Secret Sis Reveal, lots of photos were taken (per usual). We will miss our graduating seniors!
This year, Sigma Theta Chi performed an original mash-up of “Bye, Bye, Bye” and “I Want it That Way” for All-Campus Sing 2016 (aka Greek Sing). Greek Sing Chair Emily Hostetler arranged the piece and held twice a week rehearsals where actives learned the music, as well as the coordinating dance, created and taught by Alexa Satterlee.
Thanks to lots of hard work and dedication, Sigma Theta Chi placed third in the 2016 All-Campus Sing! As well, our brother fraternity, the Adelphikos placed third in their category. It was a good night for purple!
Special thanks to Sam Quatrini and Jeremy Glidden for being fantastic accompanists!
During homecoming weekend, we celebrated a milestone anniversary. Happy 70th anniversary to Sigma Theta Chi! It was a blast to connect with alumni ranging from graduating classes of 1949 and 1950 to 2015. We shared stories, sang together, connected with people in our family lines, and of course took lots of pictures! This sisterhood is unlike any other because no matter our age, graduating class, and where we come from, we are all united as sisters of Sigma Theta Chi.
